For anyone who has visited or read about Lake Taupo in New Zealand, you will be aware of the amazing options for fishing in the area; all within an hour’s drive from any of the villages in the area you can find your ideal fishing spot. To be prepared before you go out on your trip you can visit any of the fine supply stores in the area including Hamills in Taupo. New Year, New Location and Lots more Flies

Welcome to 2019! At the beginning of last year, I closed our physical store in Taupo to concentrate on my position at Rafting New Zealand. This ties my up during the day and allows my to concentrate in the studio in the early mornings and evenings. My mentor Niven Murch passed away in January 2019 and we relocated his stock and memories to our home in Waipahihi, Taupo. Over the coming months, we will also be displaying Niven's cane rod collection which include some Edgar Sealeys, Allcocks, and Horricks-Ibbitson. Why SilvereyeFlies?

Why SilvereyeFlies? The journey to become SilvereyeFlies began a long time ago and, back then, we had absolutely no idea it would come to this! Back in 1997, a block of land was nabbed and a lovely home erected (as you do). It was in the beautiful Bonnells Bay, Lake Macquarie NSW Australia. Our street name? Silvereye Close. We have held on to that name through the years and our NZ Company carries the name. In Oz, we think that we never, ever saw a Silvereye but now they flit around outside our Office windows and in our fruit trees....
